Hyfrydol – Hymn Bundle

This old hymn melody has been associated with a number of hymn texts, giving you several different options:

• Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus
• Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners
• I will sing of my Redeemer

The orchestration is intended to closely fit the text of Jesus, What a Friend for Sinners and also Come Thou, Long Expected Jesus.  The music darkens somewhat for verses like “Jesus, what a friend in sorrow…even when my heart is breaking” and “Storms about me, night o'er takes me“.  I would recommend skipping the darker verse setting if sung to the text of I will sing of my Redeemer.
